The phone was ringing when I got to my desk at 9:00 this morning... By 10:30, I had 3 people in my cube all wanting different things. The 12:00 meeting was impromptu-ly moved to 10:50, with resulting outputs due by 2:00. I sent an email to 3 people on 2 different issues which will almost certainly result in a meeting at some point of at least 1 hour. Based on the number of open windows in my task bar at this moment, I am also trying to resolve 5 other issues simultaneously....which means I'm now fairly convinced that I'm not going to make the spinning class at 12:20, since the final chop on the 2:00 things is due by 4:00 and I have to get the Monkey (who's 45 minutes away) by 5:30 so he can be fed and in bed by 8:30 because a friend of mine might be dropping by around 9.
Clearly the only sane thing to do at this very moment is to blog.

Clearly.
Eurgh...or maybe I'll just sleep because I've been sneezing my head off all day too. I wonder if that Airborne stuff works...
Yeah, I'm still trying to wrap my head around Walt Whitman set to music...or, if nothing else, perhaps I'll finally be able to stop giggling at the lyrics by the time we perform...
Yeah...I don't miss that choir. I miss you guys, but I don't miss that choir.
I actually think the piece is supposed to *sound* like a war...and it does when the professionals do it...
I expect our version of it is likely to come across as something like the apex of the battle...
"...and the double grave awaits them."
Who thought that makes a good lyric???
There is a little of that, to be sure... I'm still holding out hope that it will grow on me/us. The Amy Beach piece felt just as weird to start, but improved the more we got into it...so...
Here's hoping!
Maybe I'll parachute in the last week of rehearsals and see if I can throw off the entire 2nd soprano section. Hell, why stop there? All the sopranos. No - the whole choir! Bwah hah hah hah hahhhhh!
