More Love (Actually)

I'm not done with Love Actually. Well, ok, I may well be done with love (actually), but I'm not done with the movie, I mean. It's still romping around in my head...in particular, this quote that my friend Damon reminded me about after my Emma Thompson post:

So if you believe in Father Christmas, children, like your Uncle Billy does, buy my festering turd of a record. And particularly enjoy the incredible crassness of the moment when we try to squeeze an extra syllable into the fourth line.

Heh. It's too bad none of our current aging-pop-stars have reached that level of profound candor yet. It might be a lot more fun to hear them being interviewed...

It is after Thanksgiving, you know... Let the carols begin!

So if you really love Christmas...
Come on and let it show!

Every time I try to post a comment to your blog, it goes through this whole thing about blogger beta something and eats my comment. So here's what you missed.

First, I corrected the line from the song: it's come on and let it *snow*. [shudder.]

And then, I added my favorite Billy Mack quote: "Kids...don't buy drugs. Become a pop star and they give you them for free!"

In response to your remark about aging pop stars, Billy Idol is singing Christmas songs... sweater fireplace, lip sneer and rocker fist included.

You Tube it...you'll die happy.
