Ever wonder about the power of marketing? Witness the logic of a four-year-old...
Monkey: Can we get new Yo-Go's from Kelloggs?
Me: Ugh. I don't know about that.
Monkey: But they're creamy on the outside and chewy on the inside. That's why I love them.
Me: Have you had them?
Monkey: No.
Me: How do you know that you love them?
Monkey: I saw it on a commercial.
Me: Oh. [cringing] So...you know...what have we talked about with commercials?
Monkey: [thoughtful pause...then seriously] That there's too many commercials in my life?
Me: Um. Well...yes...I have said that...several times. Heh. But...no, I mean, what do commercials do?
Monkey: Oh! They try to sell me stuff I don't need.
Me: Exactly.
[pause]
Monkey: ...but they're from Kelloggs...
Me: *sigh*
...and if you're wondering, no. I haven't bought him Yo-Gos...or Fruit Flavored Cheerios...or CrunchBerries. I did buy him Eggo cereal and he squealed in delight
Monkey: This is it! It's Eggo cereal!! It's making a splash in bowls everywhere!!!
Me: [forehead thwack]
I hope I can institute parental control blocking on QVC before he figures out how to use a credit card...

So funny...and at the same time, so horrifying.
By the way, missy, inquiring minds are waiting for a wedding report.
