Backblog from 23 March -- Mykonos
There's something I want to write here about how great it's been to spend time with Nattybug. Something about feeling close to a person that, realistically, I barely know. Something about the comfort of old friends -- even when they were too seldom seen.
There's something to be said about the things you can learn about yourself from another person's growth process...about how far you've come and how far you still have to go. Something to be said for the feeling of generosity of spirit and genuine pride in watching someone you care about bloom into the person they're going to become. Something to be said for how that growth in another person can be such a source of inspiration and encouragement.
There's something to be said for going into a vacation with no expectations and coming away with so much. There's something to be said for letting the Universe take you where you're supposed to go and show you what it wants you to see. Something to be said for letting go of that need to control every. single. thing.
Vacations should be like this: freeing and unfettered. Good times with good friends with good food and amazing scenery. There should be time to think and wonder and see and do. Time to walk the labyrinth and see where the stones go. Time for long conversations and cups of coffee that go on for hours. Time to just...be.
There's something to be said for the fact that I finally got brave enough to take this vacation. There's something to be said for the fact that my vacation standards are changed because of it...and much to be said for the changes that might come in me because of it.
There's something to be said.
...if only I could really say it.
