From time to time, I get helpful emails from people I don't know offering me products to enlarge my penis. I've never understood why, exactly. I mean, of my two email addresses, one is clearly a girl name and the other has my gender in the username. To my way of thinking, it should be fairly obvious that I'm not well equipped to make use of such helpful potions.
But I was browsing Grrbear's blog and when I saw the post about the Gender Genie, I had to try it. And wouldn't you know...every substantive post I tested (the long, rambly, deep-thoughts ones -- i.e. the ones that actually say something) showed male. Most of the unsubstantive posts tested male as well. And the few that gave me that girly edge, did so by only a few clicks.
It makes me wonder how the algorithm works...and whether or not it automatically codifies big words as masculine...and why this sort of coolness wasn't around when I was a senior in college and doing my thesis on gender communication. Talk about an incredible research tool...
And...because you're wondering (you were, weren't you?)...this post was Gender Genied as....
Male...but just barely: 262 F vs 256 M.

..I NEVER want to be first on your blogs (like this one)...but I am. So, maybe you should be singing Tenor with the TALTOS? Hmmm, and you are a good buddy...oh, see there -- never mind, that's why I don't want to be first. But then :)
Oh, BASSO...silly bee.
I miss you!! I should try to come meet you for dinner next week or the week after before you go rehearse. Let me know what works for you!
And good news: I'm actually missing the singing! Maybe that bodes well for the Fall... I'm hopeful.
And I, sir, am no TALTO, tyvm. I may write like a boy, but I'm girly through and through. :D
..you are the girly girl, but I couldn't resist. Yes, getting together may be a good thing if possible. There is much busy-ness (otherwise business) on all fronts - and backs. But try we must. Later
Wheeerreee aaaaare yoooouuuu?
Hmmmm....
It looks like only little words count. According to the analysis report, these words are scored masculine with weights greater than 15: "around, what, more, are, as, who". And these feminine - "with, if, not, where, be, when, your".
Although with lower weights, the Genie considers these words masculine: "is, the, a, it, to". And these feminine: "we, should, and, me, myself, was".
Based on what evidence, one wonders...
