Lazy Sunday

The Monkey is now watching "The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl" for the fifth time...

...since this morning.

I know...that's a lot of TV, but when we decided to have a lazy day, we took it to heart. In fact, we didn't even get around to eating lunch until almost 2 (thirty...)...and if it weren't for the fact that he wanted pizza (and only pizza would do), he would probably still be in pajamas (we've both upgraded from PJs to sweats -- woot!)

The idea of "Lazy Sunday" was right on par with Christmas. I found Sharkboy and Lavagirl on a movie channel and had the foresight to DVR it...then I told the Monkey that we'd have a totally lazy Sunday. We'd lay around in pajamas and watch the movie and do as much nothing as we could squeeze in. He thought it was brilliant. He counted down on his fingers. He told everyone in earshot.

...and he woke up at 6 this morning to start the celebrating. That's 6 a.m. *new* time. GAH!

So the first airing of Sharkboy and Lavagirl was while he ate breakfast and I consumed an entire pot of coffee (in another room) trying to attain the disposition of something that vaguely resembles a human being. I was deep in dream-sleep when he woke up...and I'm neither rational nor patient (nor kind) when roused abruptly from that state. There was a lot of post-coffee apologizing.

It's been pretty awesome though...this affirmation of laziness. I did break the rules a little by running the vacuum and doing a load of laundry. And, of course, there was the big walk up the street to get lunch -- where we jammed out to some awesome 80's tunes (we got Animotion, Madonna, Prince, the Ramones, Peter Gabriel, and Thomas Dolby back to back to back...seriously for awesome!). When we got back, he spent about a half hour or so trying his luck with his training skates on the kitchen floor (my nerves are just starting to recover) and now he's watching Sharkboy and Lava Girl again. We're both starting to wind down...I can tell.

Laziness can be so very exhausting...

Wow. Apparently he missed the memo about getting up late on a lazy Sunday.

Wow, I totally had a Lazy Saturday this weekend too! Only with less Sharkboy & Lava Girl watching and more sniffling due to my cold.

Still, it was **WUUUNNNERFULLLL**!!!

I'm *so* doing that again.

To be fair, the best way to pack in a lot of nothin'-doin' is to minimize time sleeping. He's got you there.
